Sarah Nagourney is a platinum-selling songwriter, artist development strategist, and founder of Glassbeat Music.
Background
Born in Connecticut, Sarah learned how to play the piano at the age of five. She got her start in the music industry as a teen folk singer in Connecticut. Later, she became a jazz singer while studying at Oxford University and performed at various college events. While a student at Oxford, Sarah performed regularly at the famous London restaurant, Langan's Brasserie, which was immortalized in the film: The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover. She also performed often at the historic Blitz Club in London, which spawned many important artists, including Adam Ant and Duran Duran.
Career
Early on, Sarah was receiving stellar press reviews from such noted publications as Melody Maker, Time Out, and The Sunday Telegraph (UK),[1] while she performed in festivals in Europe and Asia. One such review by Michael James in Melody Maker stated: “The arrival of a vocalist so sensitive and intelligent an artist as Sarah Nagourney is an event well worth signalling.” [2]
After graduation, Sarah decided to move to New York City where she had a number of bands. This culminated in a record deal on Invasion Records back in the UK with her pop band, The Glass Beat Game. It was then that Sarah found her art pop voice. They released three different singles: “Pleasure,” “Do You Remember?” and “Tell Me.” The music video for “Pleasure” gained critical attention.
