Colorado Plains Regional Airport (IATA: AKO, ICAO: KAKO, FAA LID: AKO) is on the north city limits of Akron, Colorado, in Washington County, Colorado, about 115 miles northeast of Denver.
Facilities
The airport covers 639 acres (259 ha) at an elevation of 4,714 feet (1,437 m). Its runway, 11/29, is 7,000 by 100 ft (2,134 by 30 m) asphalt.[1]
In the year ending March 31, 2006 the airport had 21,220 aircraft operations, average 58 per day: 99% general aviation, 1% air taxi, <1% military and <1% airline. 17 aircraft were then based at this airport: 88% single-engine and 12% multi-engine.[1]
