Ingrid Rounsaville Lyne (August 2, 1975 – April 8, 2016) was an American nurse from Renton, Washington whose dismembered body was discovered on April 10, 2016.[1] Lyne was a nurse at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle.[2]

Disappearance and death

Lyne was last seen by friends on April 8, 2016 and was reported missing on April 9. Later that day, police found several of her dismembered body parts, including a severed head, foot, arm and leg[3] in a Seattle recycling bin,[4] approximately ten miles from her home.[5] On April 15, 2016, additional severed body parts were found in a different location by a rubbish collector but there is not yet identification of the victim of these body parts.[3]

Lyne's mother searched the house when her daughter did not pick up her children. She texted questions to John Robert Charlton, who had been dating Lyne for about a month.[1] She then called the police who found blood, human tissue, and a pruning-saw in the bathroom, as well as trash bags which were similar to those containing Lyne's severed body parts.[6] The coroner's office stated Lyne died of "homicidal violence."[7]

Investigation and arrest

Charlton was arrested on April 11. He has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held in the King County Jail on $2M bail.[8]

Lyne was a 1993 graduate of Canyon del Oro High School in Tucson, AZ, USA. She was a recipient of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1997 from the the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1997. She moved to Washington state in 2000 and lived in her present house for about 13 years. In 2014, she divorced Phillip Lyne.[9]
