Liberatum is an international cultural diplomacy organisation, [1] [2] multimedia and cultural content [3] company founded by Pablo Ganguli in 2001. It creates and presents multidisciplinary artistic platforms [4] and promotes contemporary arts, film, [5] [6] media, literature and culture [7] worldwide through its own festivals, films, summits and other programming. [8]Liberatum is one of the few organisations that support women in creativity giving hope to feminism. [9][10]

History

Liberatum was founded by Pablo Ganguli in 2001 while he was living in Port Moresby.

Global programme

Liberatum festivals, [11] [12] [13] [14] [15] shows, [16] [17] [18] content, [19] programmes and summits are hosted in worldwide. They have taken place in Russia, Turkey,[20] Papua New Guinea, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, United Kingdom, France, United States, India, Morocco. [21]

Film

Liberatum and illy [22] made a short film in 2014 called Inspiring Creativity featuring James Franco, Hans Zimmer, Tracey Emin, Joan Smalls about what drives their creativity.[23] They have also made a film with W Hotels about transformation, including the performance artist Dita Von Teese.

Liberatum's other film 'Artistry/Technology' is a documentary on the relationship between creativity and technological advancement. David Hockney and Francis Ford Coppola agreed to be in the film. [24] [25] [26] [27] [28] [29]

Style

Liberatum has presented a wide range of cultural programmes [30] and festivals [31] around the world including multidisciplinary ventures in Turkey such as "Istancool" and has developed similar ventures in Hong Kong, Marrakech, Moscow and Berlin consisting of several artforms and unusual performance art elements. The New York Times described Liberatum as a "cultural festival known for its hip quotient." [32]
