Reigan Derry

Background

Reigan grew up with various musical tastes, singing around the house and influenced by her parents. Having been classically trained and always involved with school choirs, Reigan is a vibrant performer whom has been dedicated to her craft, but now, with the help of Australian Idol, the gifted vocalist is set to take the next step in her career. Her first ever solo performance outside of school was at a retirement village where she sung the first verse of "So You Would Come" by Australia Hillsong.
Reigan's Eclectic musical tastes include jazz and drum & bass, she listens to and sings music from the 1960s, a little bit of progressive metal, opera, classical and contemporary jazz and has studied opera for the past three years with Perth singer Elisa Wilson.

Australian Idol

After having much musical experience since being a child, Reigan now 17 decided to Audition for the 2006 version of Australian Idol, having everything the judges were looking for, from impressive looks to a great voice, which Kyle Sandilands called the best package he had seen so far in the season, advancing through the audition, the top 100, the trio performance and the solo performance, Reigan became apart of the top 24 contestants in the semi-finals.
On the 29 August, Australia voted Reigan to the top 12, and letting her be apart of the finals.
