The purple-capped fruit dove (Ptilinopus ponapensis), is a species of bird in the family Columbidae. It is found on Chuuk and Pohnpei in the Caroline Islands. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical mangrove forests.
