Capillary Technologies is a software product company, which provides cloud-based Omnichannel Customer Engagement, eCommerce platforms and related services for retailers and brands It is headquartered in Singapore.[1][2]

History

Capillary Technologies was founded by Aneesh Reddy, Krishna Mehra and Ajay Modani in 2008.[1]The co-founders are alumni of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT-KGP). Before founding Capillary, Aneesh worked at ITC Limited; Krishna was with Microsoft Research and Ajay with Danieli.[3]

Incubated in IIT Kharagpur, Capillary began its operations in Kolkata and moved to Bangalore in May, 2009.[4]

In July 2016, Capillary expanded its operations to retailers in China[5]

Funding

Capillary started with a funding of 1,00,000 Indian rupees by the co-founders themselves. It later received a funding of 15,00,000 rupees from Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Kharagpur[6] In September 2009, Capillary received a funding of $100,000[7] from Qualcomm Ventures.[8] Capillary has also raised funds from a group of angel investors, including the high-profile angel investor Rajan Anandan, Head of Google India; Venkat Tadanki, CEO of Secova; and Harminder Sahni, founder of Wazir Advisors.[9]

Products

Capillary provides a vaguely-defined product called "end-to-end customer engagement solutions"[clarification needed] to retailers and consumer facing businesses.[10]

Subsidiaries

In 2011, Capillary has expanded its operations to Dubai, United Kingdom and Singapore. Capillary’s international operations are run under its subsidiaries Capillary Solutions FZ-LLC (Dubai), Capillary Technologies Ltd (UK) and Capillary Technologies SG PTE. LTD.[11]
