ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, Ypna. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Taxobox at Peripatus

Hi, if you changed the taxobox from an automated one to a manual one at Peripatus because the Phylum line was previously not showing, then this was due to a site-wide error I had made in the code that displays automated taxoboxes. Apologies. It's fixed now. Peter coxhead (talk) 06:52, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Peter. Indeed that's why I changed it. Great, thanks for letting me know. Ypna (talk) 10:29, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

rotate a picture

Hello Ypna, on your request a bot rotated . Please have in mind, that this picture is used actually 24 times in a Wikipedia project. After the Bot fulfilled your wish, all those pictures were rotated. Sometimes that is no problem, but in other cases the result is very nasty. For example in this message here it would be much better optically, if the beetle would be orientated as it was before. So, if you want the picture rotated, please give him another name. I for instance compose several pictures to a block, where the height and the width are exactly calculated to give a composed picture. With one picture altered height and width the whole block will become a mess. I will try to move the rotated picture to Cicindela arenaria viennensis rotated.jpg and reset Cicindela arenaria viennensis bl.jpg to the old orientation tomorrow. I am thinking if there is a way to avoid such effects, but it is a complicated thing, look here. --Siga (talk) 16:46, 18 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Siga, I requested the rotation as it seems conventional to me for insects to be depicted with the head at the top. However, I understand your point of concern. Ok, thanks. Ypna (talk) 00:25, 19 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Meanwhile I did, what I meant to be a good idea. In Commens the two pictures, the reverted one and the rotated version look well, but in some applications there is a problem. I asked c:user:Steinsplitter, who made the Bot to look after it.--Siga (talk) 10:39, 19 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I changed Cicindela arenaria viennensis bl.jpg to Cicindela arenaria viennensis rotated.jpg in the two lemmas in english
