Dr Warnasena Rasaputra was a Sri Lankan economist and a civil servant. [1]

Education

After graduating from the University of Ceylon with a degree in cconomics, Warnasena Rasaputra joined the Central Bank of Sri Lanka in the early-1950s. Later he proceeded to University of Wisconsin and acquired a doctorate in the filed of economics

Career

In 1977 Dr. Rasaputra became the seventh governor of central bank of Sri Lanka and held that position for almost 9 years. In 1986 he was appointed as the Sri Lankan ambassador to France and later on served as ambassador to Geneva and United States of America as well.[2]
