User:Peter coxhead This infraorder, sometimes clade is an important clade in the evolution of the Heterobranch mollusca. It is consistently used in Wikiproject gastropods. I would like to use Automatic taxoboxes, but at the moment all are manually coded apart from a few.

See Tergipes tergipes for one of the few which use Automatic taxobox. BernardP (talk) 20:18, 25 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@BernardP: please read Template:Taxobox/doc#Classification. The purpose of a taxobox is to summmarize, like all infoboxes, not to give a complete taxonomy. Usually we include major ranks, which this is not, and a few ranks immediately above the target taxon, which is done via |display_parents= in a taxobox. The issue is whether it is necessary to include Cladobranchia in every gastropod taxobox, which is the effect of |always display=. You should discuss this at WP:WikiProject Gastropods. @Peter coxhead: - thanks. I'll draw this to the attention of the main WP:WikiProject Gastropods leaders. I was following previous convention within the existing pages, but I see your point. Actually there are several other categories which I would drop before this one. BernardP (talk) 21:47, 25 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
