I'm not disputing the statement about the origin of sequins per se, but the casual implication that the Persian Gulf is near the Mediterranean. Measured in Google Earth, the shortest distance between these two bodies of water is 1300km, a substantial distance. I think that "Levant" would be the correct word to use here, both geographically and in terms of cultural history. 58.96.126.8 (talk) 15:07, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Spangles and Paillettes
On the one hand, the article says spangles and paillettes are different, on the other hand, "spangle" and "paillette" redirect to the article. That's confusing. 2001:981:4B0C:1:DAA2:5EFF:FE8E:C8D8 (talk) 21:50, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
