Kyle Harvey (born May 18, 1993), better known by his stage name and mononym Kyle (stylized as KYLE and formerly known as K.i.D) is an American rapper and singer from Los Angeles, California. He is signed to Indie-Pop and Atlantic Records.[1] He is best known for his breakout single "iSpy", featuring American rapper Lil Yachty. Kyle's work group, "The SuperDuper Crew" consist of members such as "Brick", "Jesus", and "Max".

Kyle has collaborated with artists such as Kehlani, Lil Yachty, G-Eazy and Chance the Rapper, among others. Some of his popular songs include "iSpy", "Keep It Real", "Doubt It" and "King Wavy", released in 2015 and 2016, respectively.[2][3][4] In 2015, Rolling Stone named him as "one of the ten artists you need to know."[5]

Early life

Kyle Harvey was born in the Reseda neighborhood of Los Angeles but grew up almost two hours away in Ventura, California. He started singing at the age of six and was writing and performing his own songs by elementary school. He attended Ventura High School as a teen. He told Vice that he started rapping when he was about 13 years old.[6]

Career

Kyle started releasing mixtapes under the moniker K.i.D. starting in 2010, and in 2013 released his debut album Beautiful Loser.[7][8]

In October 2015, he released his follow up album Smyle. Kyle's first music video to reach one million views was Keep it Real, which was accomplished later that year.

In December 2016, he released the single "iSpy", featuring Lil Yachty. The song gained widespread recognition for Kyle. The song peaked at number 10 on US Billboard Hot 100 and number 21 on the Canadian Hot 100.[9][10]

In February 2017, Kyle signed a deal with Atlantic Records.[1]
