"Heavydirtysoul"
Song

"Heavydirtysoul" is a song written and recorded by American musical duo Twenty One Pilots. From their fourth studio album Blurryface, the song was released as a single on December 9, 2016.[4][5] The band uploaded an audio-only video of the song onto YouTube on May 17, 2015.

Music video

The official music video for "Heavydirtysoul" was released on February 3, 2017. It shows Tyler Joseph sitting in the backseat of a car, which is driving on its own down a highway. Josh Dun is seen playing drums in the middle of the road where it's shown that his drum kit catches on fire, but he continues playing it, and the car that Joseph is in loses one of its wheels while targeting Dun, but it misses him by a small amount, then turns around and targets him once again. It's shown briefly that the driver of the vehicle is an unknown figure in a black hoodie, presumably "Blurryface", a character created by the band. It's also seen that the car falls apart due to Dun's drumming, and when the car loses its roof and its doors, Joseph climbs on top of the car, and then jumps off it as the vehicle explodes. The duo then perform the remainder of the song on the highway during the night, around a fire. The ending to the video shows the sun rising, and Joseph, along with the car, back to normal. The car that's used in the video is a grey Cadillac de Ville sedan.[6] The video has over 33 million views as of May 2017.

Commercial performance

"Heavydirtysoul" peaked at number 8 on the Hot Rock Songs chart, number 2 on the Alternative Songs chart, number 22 on the Mainstream Rock chart, and number 25 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart.

Usage in media

The song is used in the video games WWE 2K16 and Madden NFL 16.[7][8]
