Welcome!

Your topic ban: a proposal

Peeta, I see that as soon as you returned a few days ago from your self-requested block, you again started editing Sikh- and Punjabi-related pages, indeed you have edited little else. This violates your topic ban from Sikh- and Punjabi-related articles pages, broadly construed, per my note from 3 December 2016 above. However... I would rather not block you for it. I'd like for you to be able to edit cinema articles peacefully, if you're able to do it without disruption. Could you explain why you have done things like removing the unreferenced tag from List of Punjabi cinema actors and List of Punjabi cinema actresses? Your edit summary "It's a list" explains nothing. All the actors on the lists have Wikipedia articles, so they're referenced in that sense, yes. But I checked a few of the people you yourself added to List of Punjabi cinema actors, and their biography articles don't state that they're Punjabi or Sikh — they just give the nationality as "Indian". What needs referencing is that they belong on these lists, so removing the unreferenced tag is pretty disruptive, especially while adding more unreferenced names. That is just one example. Please respond below: did you have a good reason for removing the tags? Or, if not, do you understand the problem, and do you think you will be able to avoid such problems in the future, and pay more attention to a) sources, b) the opinions of other editors? I have looked up your appeal of your topic ban here, and I'm really unhappy about the way you describe other good-faith editors' (and often very experienced editors) attempts to argue with you as simply "targeting" you and "bullying" you. If you can explain in a cogent way how you will be able to edit without disruption and without disrespect towards others going forward, and without nationalistic POV-pushing, then I'll be glad to lift your topic ban. @Bishonen: I'll try editing "peacefully". List of Punjabi cinema actors and List of Punjabi cinema actresses are lists of actors, who have previously worked in Punjabi cinema films. This is not a list of Punjabi or Sikh actors. I still need to go through the lists and make sure every actor listed has worked in Punjabi films.

(Note that the "ping" function doesn't work unless you sign the post.) I think you misinterpret the list, it isn't a "List of actors in Punjabi cinema", it's a list of Punjabi cinema actors. But also, even with your interpretation, you removed the "unreferenced" tag first, and now, afterwards, you say you need to go through the list to make sure everybody's referenced — and the tag is still missing. Your response is altogether unimpressive, as that was just one example, and I talked about other things, such as sources. Look, I'm sorry, but I don't feel I can reward your ban violations by lifting the ban at this time. I do need to see you editing other areas, and learning more about Wikipedia, before I let you loose in the area you feel so strongly about. You are still banned from Sikh- and Punjabi-related pages, broadly construed. Please don't just stop editing: edit other areas, get some practice. Bishonen | talk 08:47, 25 June 2017 (UTC).[reply]
@Bishonen:, I have just checked, every actor and actress in the lists have acted in a Punjabi cinema film.

You don't seem to be taking in any of the points I've made. That wasn't one of them. Be sure to respect the topic ban this time, or you will be blocked. I really believe you need more practice in less loaded areas. If you do well there, and especially if you edit without violating your ban, you can appeal again to have the ban lifted — say in six months. Bishonen | talk 12:24, 25 June 2017 (UTC).[reply]
