Promotion

Houtzagers used innovative means to promote the album, the most high profile of which was a countdown event. Unfortunately, he showed up 45 minutes late to the event, declaring that he "almost forgot" about the event before rectifying that he, in fact, "forgot". This came as a huge disappointment to fans who were looking forward to the countdown, which was supposed to involve him walking around with a sign displaying the number of minutes until the release of the album. Houtzagers also promoted the album through a gratuitous poster campaign. He printed several large posters and attached them to boards which were then dispersed randomly throughout the city of Groningen. His follow-up campaign saw him send dozens of promotional emails to everyone of his contacts, although it was noted that he didn't reply to a single email sent in response.

Reviews

Alright received generally positive reviews from critics, and is sometimes cited as a seminal and unparalleled work in the history of Linguistic Dancehall. Houtzagers himself chose to write a review that was published several months after the album's release. Fans were disappointed to discover that his feedback consisted of a mere three sentences despite the fact that he had pushed aside all of his other projects to focus on the review.

Trivia

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the album's executive producer claimed that Houtzagers had originally recorded a diss track aimed at RUG Russian department rival, Sander Brouwer. He refused to go into detail about the lyrics, but insisted that the track as a whole was "very unpleasant".

The track "Peter, Peter Mentimeter" was featured in a promotional video for the grand reopening of the Amnesia club in Ibiza.
