Plot

The movie opens up with Pallavi (Niveda Thomas) and her husband Arun (Aadhi Pinisetty) celebrating their one year anniversary in San Francisco. Pallavi doesn't leave for work which she informs Arun claiming that she has errands to complete before their anniversary party in the evening. After Arun leaves for work, she hurriedly gets ready and rushes off to catch a plane to Los Angeles. Pallavi lands at a hotel where she meets a man who looks depressed and drunk. He immediately hugs her tightly saying that he knew she would come back to him. It is revealed that this is Uma (Nani), Pallavi's ex-lover. Movie cuts to a flashback taking place in Vizag two years before.

Pallavi is a bubbly girl with a loving personality. She dreams for a blissful future with her husband and kids and wants to create sweet memories to share with them one day and hence takes up Indian classical dance classes. But she fails miserably getting herself kicked out from the academy. Pallavi is adamant on pursuing any type of dance so that she can anger her college senior who often bullies her referring to her as his 'wife'. She then comes across P. Uma Maheshwar Rao, fondly called "Uma", a college topper and PhD. student dancing away at his classmate's wedding. Pallavi manages to convince Uma to be her dance master and to teach her his dance moves for her performance at her college function. After the first few classes, Uma starts to fall in love with Pallavi's innocence and personality whilst Pallavi too falls for Uma's nature after he helped her to stand up to her college bully. She performs amazingly at her college function further increasing the positive light she has on Uma. Pallavi expresses her love to Uma to which he reciprocates forming their love story.

Uma, still waiting to complete his thesis to gain his PhD, leaves his residential college to stay close to Pallavi. Pallavi on the other hand smartly kicks out the previous tenant without her father knowing so that Uma can move into their penthouse to start teaching kids tuition and be with her. Pallavi and Uma grow really close and become very much in love with each other.

The topic of marriage arises in Pallavi's family and she becomes paranoid that her family would not accept Uma and instead would get her married to someone else. The next day, Uma gets an offer to complete his thesis with the guidance of a well-reputed professor at the University of Delhi and is very excited to share the news with Pallavi. Pallavi expresses her fear to Uma before he could reveal the news and convinces him to elope to which he agrees to.

On the way back from their meeting, Uma unknowingly meets Pallavi's father Chandramouli (Murali Sharma) where he expresses to his friend's daughters lover about the eligibility to marry their daughters. He values good education, status and security for their daughters future which makes Uma realize that he's not well-settled and financially-stable to be able to take care of Pallavi. This leads to Uma calling off their plan to elope, and he requests her to wait for just one year, so he can come back with a secured job and will be successful in convincing her family to give her hand in marriage. Pallavi is dejected, and walks away in anger.

Uma, heartbroken, moves to Delhi to pursue his dreams. She refuses to answer any of Uma's calls and tries to move on from their break up. Uma believes that he still has Pallavi and works hard to study and complete his thesis. On the day that Uma has to hand in his final papers, Pallavi receives a marriage proposal. She immediately calls Uma, to which he picks up and in happiness of her finally calling him, he gushes in excitement about his graduation and their future together asking her to wish him luck. Pallavi, knowing that if she informs Uma about her wedding, it would make him immediately drop everything and come to her, refrains from telling him the truth and wishes him all the best. She gets married to Arun unhappily in order to move on with her life forgetting about Uma and moves to the United States.

After discovering about Pallavi's wedding, Uma falls into depression and becomes an alcoholic. A year later, his mentor, Professor Murthy (Tanikella Bharani ) somehow manages to get him to move to Los Angeles for a great job to carry on with his future. But Uma, deeply hurt by Pallavi's absence in his life starts to ruin his life by not going to work and drinking excessively. Professor Murthy, concerned for Uma, calls Pallavi and divulges to her about Uma's plight. Pallavi who is now happily married to Arun feels guilty being the cause of Uma's condition.

She flies to LA to meet Uma and to convince him to move on with his life to which Uma is ignorant to, claiming that Pallavi is still in love with him and asks her to come back to him. Unable to convince him, Pallavi flies back to San Francisco and discloses to Arun about her trip to visit Uma and her guilt about being the cause of his state. Arun being supportive to whatever decision Pallavi decides to take, lets her invite Uma to come live with them for ten days so that Uma can see how happy they are together and learn to move on with his life too. Uma confident that he can win Pallavi back follows suit and arrives in San Francisco. He tries to make Arun uncomfortable of his presence and creates all sorts of drama in order to make Pallavi realize that she still loves Uma.

Chandramouli and Pallavi's brother-in-law Lova Babu suddenly make a surprise visit to Pallavi's home. Pallavi startled by their sudden entry acquires a promise from Uma not to reveal anything about their past and he is reintroduced to them as Arun's childhood friend. Chandramouli later confesses to Uma that he is worried for his daughter's married life after the incident of his friend's daughter committing suicide after her marriage because she was in love with someone else. And as he too got Pallavi married to Arun despite knowing that she was in love with someone else (not knowing it was actually Uma), feels guilty and anxious on the outcome of her married life. Since Uma promised Pallavi not to reveal anything, he tries to hint to Chandramouli that he was actually the person that Pallavi was in love with to gain him on his side.

Pallavi grows increasingly irritated at Uma's actions to create trouble in order to win her back and urges Arun to let them accompany him on his business trip to Santa Monica to which Arun reluctantly agrees to. They all travel by road and Chandramouli during that period is convinced of his daughter happiness and begins to enjoy the rest of the trip. They reach Santa Monica and start to tour the beaches and enjoy themselves except for Uma who is annoyed by the close proximity of Pallavi and Arun. Arun leaves in the middle citing that he has a client meeting at a nearby cafe. After which Pallavi realizes that Arun had left his wallet and follows him to pass it on.

To her shock, Pallavi sees Arun hugging another girl in the parking lot. She is heartbroken when she figures out that Arun was making constant trips to Santa Monica in the past year to meet that girl. She confronts Arun back at their hotel to which Arun lies in response which ends up in a huge fight. Through the rest of the trip they are not on speaking terms and Pallavi confides in Uma about the incident. Uma is finally joyful that Pallavi will be his again.

On the other hand, Chandramouli figures out through Arun's father that Arun barely had friends and had spent his childhood and most of his education in Dehradun and not Vizag. He realizes through calling Kavitha that it was Uma who Pallavi was in love with and then decides that Uma is the right guy for Pallavi as he just wants his daughter to lead a happy married life.

Chandramouli meets Uma to reveal about his decision to marry off Pallavi to him to which Uma objects. Uma reveals to Chandramouli about his confrontation with Arun after the cheating incident. It is then revealed that the girl Arun had hugged was Kristen, his best friend in college who was in love with him despite him not being interested with her. Kristen, similar to Uma had depression, and had become a drug addict nearly costing her life to which Arun feels guilty for. Since he was the cause of Kristen's condition, he had accepted Uma to stay with them to make sure he doesn't take drastic decisions and end up like Kristen. Understanding the love that Arun has for Pallavi, Uma devises a plan with Chandramouli to get them back together.

Uma and Chandramouli confuse Pallavi making her realize her love which prompts her to find Arun. Arun is seen packing his bags to move away from Pallavi to allow her to lead a happy life because he values her happiness before his. Pallavi storms towards him and throws out all of Arun's packed clothes out of the luggage to find their wedding photo frame. Realizing that Arun only loves her, she asks him this time if there was something going on between Kristen and him to which Arun replies 'no'. They hug and reconcile with Pallavi professing her love to Arun at last. Uma understands their bond and love and is happy for them but takes time to accept the situation as he is heartbroken about losing his love once again.

A year later in Vizag, at Pallavi's parent's house, Pallavi's mother expresses her thoughts of getting Uma married to her friend's daughter. Pallavi agrees claiming it to be a good idea. Uma is on the terrace joking around with Arun and Pallavi's daughter with Arun making fun about the past events.

As the topic of his marriage arises, Uma reveals to them that he met a girl on Facebook and implies that he too might love after marriage just like Pallavi and Arun. He concludes by saying that if "we welcome life, life will welcome us."
