Saaxdheer ([Saaxdheer] Error: {{Lang-xx}}: text has italic markup (help)) is a town in the south of the Sool region of Somaliland. The town is currently the residents of the Dhulbahante clan chief.
Overview
Saaxdheer is on the border with Ethiopia. The town lies in the Sahader Valley, due south of Las Anod, the Sool region's capital. The Saaxdheer settlement was first inhibited in the early 20th century as a camp when a water reservoir dug by a Salebaan Mursal in the 1960s. Later, it was sold to Mohamed Sancad, a wealthy businessman,following this the settlement rapidly turned into the town it is today.[1][2]
