In 1985, Chip & Pepper launched their first apparel line, selling t-shirts out of their truck in Venice beach which revolutionized the skate and surf lifestyle industry on a global scale. In 1985, the Foster brothers launched their first apparel line selling Tees and the business quickly grew. In 1994, Golf Punk launches with a flagship store in West Hollywood. The brand is an instant success and over the following six years the brand grows to become a global powerhouse. In 2003, Chip & Pepper pioneered the denim industry launching the the first premium denim. The brand becomes an industry leading denim brand. In 2007, Chip & Pepper expand its business even further and launches a juniors business in JC Penney[2]. The line defined cool mixed with quality, offering consumers the style they crave at value price points. Chip & Pepper WetWear, a surf and skate inspired apparel brand is first introduced by partnering with Forzani Group[3]. Inspired by the iconic look from the energetic 1990s surf and skate culture featuring bright colors and bold vintage patterns. In 2003, Chip & Pepper hits another milestone success and launches an exclusive denim collection for men and women in partnership with Belk stores[4]. The brand known for its vintage denim becomes famous for its champagne cotton stitching, selvage denim detailing, signature shark tooth stamp and brass shackle from the front left belt loop. In 2017, California Lake Capital partners with Lyft Brands Group — poised for growth through category extensions, new categories and international channel growth.

Chip and Pepper jeans typically have a boot cut fit and are made of high quality, lightweight denim. They are frequently distressed to increase their style, and are similarly priced to other designer jeans, such as Diesel, Seven for all Mankind, and True Religion. The jeans were often sold at upscale department stores such as Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's and Saks Fifth Avenue as well as specialty retailers; more recently, they have been sold exclusively at Belk.

Golf Punk and appearances on the Style Network/E!

In 1994, Chip & Pepper launched a store for a difusion brand called Golf Punk. As it grew, the Fosters decided to resurrect their signature brand, which took place in fall of 2003 in Los Angeles.[5] The duo gained notoriety as stylists on the Style Network show The Look For Less and numerous appearances on E!, including Glamour's 50 Biggest Fashion Dos & Don'ts.

Chip and Pepper's Cartoon Madness

At a peak in their popularity, the Foster brothers were featured on a Canadian TV station singing "Chip and Pepper: get hip or get out!" The footage came into the hands of NBC's Head of Entertainment Brandon Tartikoff, who decided to give the pair a Saturday morning cartoon show. In fall of 1991, Chip and Pepper's Cartoon Madness debuted. Serving as a cornerstone to NBC's animated lineup, it included sketches and interviews, but old cartoons such as Casper and Captain Caveman would take up most of the airtime. The show only lasted one season, however, before NBC dropped its animated block altogether in 1992.

In 1991, Chip & Pepper landed their first TV show with NBC Universal. The show gained huge popularity. Chip & Pepper became Hollywood stars and their fame quickly spreads around the world. Over the years they had many TV shown, including hosting of their own show on NBC Chip and Pepper's Cartoon Madness.
