Chinedu Echeruo is an Nigerian American Tech entrepreneur and founder of HopStop, a travel app.[1]

Life & career

Chinedu grew up in Eastern Nigeria, he received his BS from Syracuse University and MBA from Harvard Business School.[2] He started his career in investing and as a hedge fund manager in New York.[1]

He is the inventor of US Patent # 7,957,871, for Methods and Apparatuses for navigation in urban environments.[3]

Chinedu founded Tripology, a lead-generation and referral business for the travel industry. Tripology was acquired by Rand McNally and is now owned by USA Today.[4][1]

In 2005, Chinedu founded HopStop, a travel app that enables users to navigate public transportation in major metropolitan areas around the world. In 2013 Apple Inc. acquired HopStop and subsequently incorporated much of HopStop’s functionality into Apple Maps. Chinedu remained HopStop's Chairman of the Board till 2009.[5][6]

Chinedu is currently Co-CEO of MindMeet; a knowledge sharing platform. MindMeet is the first company introduced by The Love & Magic Company. MindMeet allows people anywhere in the world to share their knowledge and raise money for their charity.[7][8]

Chinedu was named one of the “10 Most Powerful People in Africa” by Forbes.[4] He was also named Black Enterprise Magazine's "Small Business Innovator of the Year" and listed in the magazine's “Top 40 Under 40”.[9][10][11]
