Gardenscapes is a Free-to-play game released by Playrix on August, 2016[1]. It is available on iOS, Android, Mac OS, and Facebook, and combines traditional match-3 mechanics with a well-developed storyline. Players follow Austin the butler on his quest to restore a once-beautiful garden.

Gameplay

Gardenscapes is a match-3 puzzle game, where the core gameplay is based on swapping two adjacent elements to make a row or column of at least three elements. Every level has a goal, examples of which are a number of elements you have to collect, garden gnomes you have to find, etc. Gardenscapes consists of a number of chapters. By completing match-3 levels, players earn stars to progress through the storyline and unlock the next chapter[2].

Reception

More than 7.5 million people play Gardenscapes every day. Facebook named it the game of the year in 2016[3]. By November 2017, total downloads had exceeded 92 million.
