Ryan Donato (born April 9, 1996) is an American ice hockey player for Harvard University. He was selected to compete in the men's tournament at the 2018 Winter Olympics.[1]

Donato was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, in round 2, 56th overall.[2]

His father, Ted, former Boston Bruins player and current Harvard coach[3], competed in the 1992 Winter Olympics.[1]

2018 Winter Olympics

Donato (jersey no. 16) scored 5 goals during the 2018 Winter Olympics for Team USA, which was eliminated by the Czech Republic in the quarter final round.

Donato's goals during the tournament were:

  • 2 goals vs Slovakia, Preliminary, 1st period, 7:09 and 3rd period, 2:51 (Team USA won 2-1)
  • 2 goals vs Slovakia, Elimination, 2nd period, 1:36 and 3rd period, 16:46 (Team USA won 5-1)
  • 1 goal vs Czech Republic, Quarterfinal, 1st period, 6:20 (Team USA lost 3-2)

Donato's father, Ted Donato, was in South Korea to watch his son play.
