Maybe it is different but where I come from the button is the 2 foot diameter circle inside the four foot and the pin is the centre of the button.
Arena Ice
Arena ice is usually better quality than club ice. I've changed this in the article.
I respectfully disagree at leas based on my limited experience. I agree that there are certainly examples when Arena Ice is made for large events, as you say, that it can be very good ice. However, for those of us who don't have full-time curling facilities available, we curl in hockey arenas where the best we can do is to pebble a few minutes after the Zamboni clears the ice after the hockey players are done with it. In those cases, the ice tends to be very poor for curling. I think that the term "Arena Ice" is more often used in a perjorative way an includes implicit references to the temporary non-recessed hacks, too-warm stones, etc. that are part of the arena ice experience.
