Mary Helen Washington
Mary Helen Washington is an American literary scholar. She is a Distinguished University Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park in the Department of English.[1] She is the author of several books of literary and cultural criticism, including The Other Blacklist: The African American Literary and Cultural Left of the 1950s.[2] She has contributed to the PBS documentary series American Experience.[3] Washington is a past president of the American Studies Association.[4]
