Varieties include:

  • WKD Original Vodka Iron Brew
a.k.a "WKD Orange" or "WKD original", orange coloured, resembling a mixture of vodka and Irn-Bru
  • WKD Original Vodka Blue
a.k.a "WKD Blue", blue in colour, bubblegum/raspberry in taste
  • WKD Original Vodka Red
a.k.a "WKD Red", red in colour
  • WKD Original Vodka Silver
a.k.a "WKD Silver", clear, reminiscent of Smirnoff Ice

All varieties are 5% or more alcohol by volume and sweet.

WKD Vodka has been heavily promoted in the UK. WKD claim to spend £20 million on promotion including a TV advertising campaign, a national poster campaign, scoreboard sponsorship at Premiership football clubs, giving out samples in bars and clubs, sponsorship, and student tours. Their catchphrase is "Have you got a WKD side?" The ads for it almost entirely feature men drinking it, which is obviously an attempt to attract male drinkers, as opposed to many other similar products, which are targeted at women.

Along with other alcopop producers, WKD have been accused of using sex to promote their product, and targeting their advertising at young drinkers.

A WKD Blue mixed with a glass of port is known as a "Cheeky Vimto" as, although highly alcoholic, its taste bears a remarkable similarity to the Vimto soft drink.
