[3]From 2006 to 2013, MacLean was the Chief of Police for Allentown. In 2014, he changed his party affiliation from Republican to Democrat. His entry into politics began in 2015 when he was elected to Allentown's City Council, winning that seat over the incumbent Joe Davis.[4] Since January 2018, MacLean has been the President of the City Council.[5]
