Accolade is a personalized health and benefits solution that improves the experience, outcomes and cost of healthcare for employers, health plans and their members. Accolade presents a single point of contact to health and benefits resources, while coordinating with providers at every step.[1]

Founded in 2007, Accolade is used by more than 1.1 million U.S. employees and their families. Employers use the company’s technology to help their workers navigate healthcare options.[2]

History

[edit]

Accolade was founded in 2007 by co-founders Michael Cline and Tom Spann. [3]

In November 2015, former Concur President and co-founder Rajeev Singh was named CEO of Accolade, while Concur co-founder Mike Hilton was named Chief Product Officer. Additionally, longtime Concur executive Rob Cavanaugh also joined Accolade as President of Field Operations. [4]

In August 2016, Accolade obtained more than $70 million in new funding led by Andreessen Horowitz, and Madrona Venture Group, bringing Accolade's total amount raised to over $160 million. [5]

On March 29, 2018, Accolade announced an additional $50 million in funding led by existing investors Andreessen Horowitz, Carrick Capital Partners, Madrona Venture Group and McKesson Ventures, with participation from new investors including Cross Creek Advisors and Madera Technology Partners. This additional investment brought Accolade's total funding over $200 million. At that time, Accolade's service was used by more than 1.1 million U.S. employees and their families.[2]

Products and Services

[edit]

Accolade provides its services to large employers and health plans. Their solution combines clinical expertise, advanced technology, and a partner ecosystem. By combining these three elements, Accolade is able to achieve a Net Promoter Score over 70, while also reducing employer health care costs up to 15%.[1]
