My Favorite Movies

I know, I know. People hate this movie. Well, a lot do anyway. Personally, I love this movie! The acting from Kevin Costner and Will Patton is amazing, and Oscar-worthy, in my opinion. The story is bold and exciting, and the message of a nobody turned hero, and giving others hope is a great message for everyone.

Formally my #1 favorite film of all time. The Matrix had awesome special effects that still look amazing to this day, an interesting story and premise, and some interesting characters (excluding Neo and Trinity). Now I like those characters, but they’re just not as interesting as someone like Morpheus or Agent Smith. Anyways, amazing movie, I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes science fiction or intelligent movies.

There’s quite a few people who love this movie, and quite a few who hate it. I for one adore this movie! It’s a surprisingly realistic approach to what would actually happen in the lives of a family if an alien invasion were to happen. The real premise of this movie though is the main character rediscovering his lost faith, and Shyamalan drives that plot home perfectly. The acting is really good, although I have seen better. And the soundtrack by James Newton Howard perfectly fits the tone of the film. If you haven’t seen Signs, give it watch!

If you asked ANYONE if they agreed that Star Wars is one of the best movies of all time, chances are, you’re not going to get a lot of people telling you no (and if there is anyone saying “no” then they wouldn’t wanna say that near me). Star Wars pushed the limits on what could be done with special effects for the time, and did a phenomenal job with them. Sure, they look kind of dated now, but when you look at it from the perspective of someone seeing it for the first time in theaters in 1977, we’d have our jaws on the floor. The storytelling from George Lucas and the people who helped him is just as phenomenal as the special effects were. The characters were amazing too, but never really had much growth until the Empire Strikes Back in my opinion. The big drawback for this movie though is the the Original Cuts not being officially released on a modern format (besides the 2006 DVDs, but I’m not going to fork over 100 dollars just for them). The Special Editions just ain’t the same at all!
