Dubai World Trade Centre
The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) is a business complex in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, built by H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed al Maktoum. It is located at 25°13′32.10″N 55°17′19.57″E / 25.2255833°N 55.2887694°E. The complex is comprised of the original tower (built in 1979), eight exhibition halls, the Dubai International Convention Centre, and residential apartments.
The 39-story office tower stands 184 metres (604 feet) tall and a majority of the floors are let commercially. At the time it was built, it was the tallest building in Dubai. The building is featured on the 100 Dirham banknote.
Exhibitions
The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has been at the forefront of organising exhibitions since 1979 and today it hosts more than 70 exhibitions and events every year. In November 1999 it undertook management of Airport Expo Dubai, a new exhibition complex with more than 23,000 square metres of exhibition space. The DWTC has developed a wide range of exhibition services and the quality of service it provides is unparalleled in the Middle East. It now manages more than 55,000 square metres of exhibition space in two complexes.
Over the years the DWTC has launched new exhibitions and expanded its existing portfolio which currently includes 12 international exhibitions. These events, held in Dubai, are:
