Notable Alumni

I recently made an edit to Babcock University page and you reverted it. I will appreciate if this is reconsidered.

I attended Babcock University myself and I am a Nigerian. The notable alumni, Shola Akinlade who i added to the list is a well respected person in the Nigerian startup Space. There are several articles about him and how he started his company from nothing and has grown it thus far. I have also used a well qualified link (Forbes article) to justify this addition.

Why did I add him? 1. He is the founder of the first Nigerian Startup to get accepted into Y-combinatior (one of the biggest accelerators in the world). 2. He runs a fast growing startup in Nigeria called Paystack that raised 1.3 Million dollars in seed rounding from foreign investors. In Nigerian startup investment landscape, that is huge. 3. He is a source of inspiration to many young tech entrepreneurs and it resonates well for the school to have him listed as an alumni on the Wikipedia page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cfkunle (talkcontribs) 06:32, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cfkunkle, generally if you are trying to reference info, it should be put inside <ref></ref> tags (not just dropped in the middle of the article), otherwise it may look like you are spamming an article link, which people unfortunately do sometimes. Thanks for explaining what you were trying to do, I've gone ahead and re-added your addition and properly formatted your ref. Thanks for your contributions and welcome to Wikipedia! Thread retitled from "Naples". Sam Sailor 10:44, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, odd <nowiki>...</nowiki> tags (none of them properly opened and closed, caused errors in Naples, Special:Diff/849999040/850001739 solved it. Sam Sailor 22:27, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sam Sailor Hmm that's quite odd, never seen that occur before. Thanks so much for fixing it! Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor 02:04, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Katniss! I started a junkbox of sorts here, feel free to add whatever you think could be relevant. Add new sections as needed, reorganize if you have better layout ideas. Thanks, Sam Sailor 22:37, 14 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Sam Sailor, thanks for letting me know! Nothing really to add to what you have at the moment, though I'll be sure to add any relevant stuff as it comes up. Thanks again for helping with CAT:MISSFILE, it's terrific to have another set of eyes looking at that. Peace, Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor 03:43, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again! There are a number of train station articles in the cat, I have posted about it on WT:RR. Sam Sailor 10:44, 20 July 2018 (UTC) P.S. Took the liberty to rename the thread, hope you don't mind.[reply]

Hi again Sam Sailor, I had noticed that too yesterday but didn't get around to looking into it. I imagine it has something to do with the five templates which also appeared yesterday in Category:Templates with missing files. Thanks for taking care of making that post! And thank you for your response yesterday, I would have had no idea to even look there. No prob about renaming the thread. HiRISE image

Did you remove a picture from Memnonia quadrangle? If so, why. I do not want to put up the wrong pictures for Wikipedia. I'm old so have troubles with all computers.Jimmarsmars (talk) 18:15, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Jimmarsmars, I did remove a picture because it did not appear properly - it was showing just the caption text and not the image, meaning it was probably an error in uploading which will occasionally happen. I would suggest just re-uploading it and adding it again to the article after you have done so. You most likely didn't do anything wrong, it just will occasionally happen sometimes due to whatever glitch. All the best, Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor 19:32, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please Advise!

Hi Katniss,

I would like to know what exactly you mean that my edits are not constructive. I am of hispanic descent and I am doing necessary corrections to last names by removing hyphens or adding their maternal last name when it comes to Spanish born individuals. I come across many of those easy to fix errors. So with Carlos Salinas De Gortari he had a lower case d instead of it being D as part of his last name.

Please allow me to fix that again.

Thank you and have a wonderful night.

  • Hey Eitandan1 / Mario, two of the things you changed in your changed a file name which broke the image. Unfortunately, the way Wikipedia is set up, altering a file name in any way will break the image because you are changing the name it was originally uploaded under. If you want to change the file name, you will unfortunately have to re-upload the file completely under the correct name to avoid having the image break and display an ugly redlink like it does in your edit here. As for the other edit you made which just changed the name, I took a few years of Spanish in high school, I had (probably erroneously) remembered how the "de" is usually lowercase because it's an article (just like "the," "a," "and," etc. is lowercase in English), though given you're of Hispanic descent obviously you would have more knowledge about this than I. I'll switch back the "de" piece of your edit, the filenames are probably good as they are, unless you're really determined to have them under the grammatically correct file name, in which case you can reupload the image. Hope this helps! Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor 05:24, 19 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

purple heart picture edit

I'm wondering, did I read right that you appreciated Purple heart page edit? As, I think I messed up the image that was there and did not know how to replace it, but I think I got the change to the title of the image correct. Is that what you were referring to? Thanks, from HistoryMysteryFixer (talk) 09:14, 30 July 2018 (UTC)HistoryMysteryFixerHistoryMysteryFixer (talk) 09:14, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey HistoryMysteryFixer, what happened is you accidentally altered the file name, presumably to fix the typos in it, as you can see here. Unfortunately, the file name was uploaded with those typos, so to avoid breaking the image, we have to leave the file name intact or re-upload the file under the correct name before changing it in the article. I'm presuming "did I read right that you appreciated Purple heart page edit?" refers to the welcome template I put on your talk page? It was just a generic template that I sometimes leave on people's talk pages to welcome them, though I do appreciate your contributions . hydro dot net

Hi, not sure if my WP:PING worked. In case not, this message is to let you know that I recently asked a question at the Teahouse about some IP addresses that I think (a) may be sockpuppeting, and (b) might be connected to the "hydro dot net" editor. You recently reported one of these IP accounts (thank you!), so I thought you might be interested in the discussion. If you want to respond to it, please reply there. Thanks, Zazpot (talk) 02:12, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Zazpot, thanks for letting me know as I didn't get the ping, I've gone ahead and replied on the Teahouse page. Thanks! :) Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor 14:14, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you delete the picture of Nikki Bella from her article
