The Nightingale is an upcoming American war drama film directed by Michelle MacLaren and written by Ann Peacock. It is based on the novel of same name by Kristin Hannah. The film will be released on January 25, 2019.

Production

The World War II-set novel by Kristin Hannah, The Nightingale was optioned in March 2015 by Sony's TriStar Pictures for a screen adaptation, with Ann Peacock to write and Elizabeth Cantillon to produce.[1][2] In August 2016, it was announced that Michelle MacLaren would be directing the film, and she would also do some finishing touches with the script along with John Sayles.[3]

Release

The Nightingale is set to be released on January 25, 2019.[4] Previously it was scheduled for an August 10, 2018 release.[5]
