André Mama Fouda, born on July 24, 1951 in Yaoundé (Cameroon), is a Cameroonian engineer and politician. He is Minister of Health since 2007.

Biography

Born in the Obobogo district of Yaoundé.[1], his secondary education is at the Francois-Xavier Vogt secondary school in that city. After a baccalaureate (scientific section) in 1971, he entered the National Polytechnic School of Yaoundé (ENSP) and obtained in 1974 a degree in civil engineering (option public works and buildings)[2]. He graduated from the Business Development Center (1992).

Married to Atangana Yvonne Mariette, he is the father of four children and is a Catholic[1].

His career began on January 1, 1974, at the Société immobilière du Cameroun (SIC) as operational engineer. Finally, in the 1990s, he assumed the position of Acting Director General.

From August 1991 to September 2007, he is Director General of the Urban and Rural Land Development and Equipment Mission (MAETUR)[2].

Politics

Since 2007, he is Minister of Public Health in the government Philemon Yang[3],[4].

In March 2008, he became vice-president of the party of the ruling party (Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) of Mfoundi 3).

Controversies and criticisms

Its activities and decisions in power and at the Ministry of Health are criticized[5][6][7][8][9]
