Brian Tracy (born January 5, 1944)[2] is a Canadian-American motivational public speaker and self-development author.[3][4][5] He is the author of over seventy books that have been translated into dozens of languages.[6] His popular books are Earn What You're Really Worth,[7] Eat That Frog!,[8] and The Psychology of Achievement.[9]
Career
Brian Tracy is the Chairman and Chief executive officer (CEO) of Brian Tracy International, a company he founded in 1984 in Vancouver, Canada.[10][11] Brian Tracy International sells counseling on leadership, selling, self-esteem, goals, strategy, creativity, and success psychology.[12][13] The company is headquartered in Bankers Hill, San Diego, California.
Prior to founding his company, Tracy had served as the Chief Operating Officer of a development company. He serves as the President of three companies headquartered in Solana Beach, California.[14] He teaches sales, time management, personal development and leadership.
Politics
In 2003 Brian Tracy stood as one of the 135 candidates in the California gubernatorial recall election on an independent platform,[15] receiving 729 votes.[16] His earnest campaign was adopted by the BBC Sunday morning radio show Broadcasting House where each week the presenter Eddie Mair would phone him for an update on how the race was progressing. On the day of the election Mair flew to California to meet with Tracy in person, only to find that the candidate had gone to Dubai during the final week of campaigning.[17]
