Career

Early Career

At 8 years old, Rossi started taking private vocal lessons[2], focused on both classical as well as broadway.

At age 14, Rossi met Jay King and Samuelle Prater of Club Noveau. She learned how to record a 3 song EP in her experience in the studio. Rossi was mentored by George Merill, a close family friend. A year later, at 15, Rossi recorded a 5 song EP, with multiple producers in Los Angeles.[3]

Much of Rossi's songwriting can be attributed to the sudden and unexpected passing of her father when she was 15[4]. Rossi used songwriting to help process her grief and wrote the song “Earthquake,” the day after her father passed away.

Rossi worked with producer Jim McGorman[5] at age 16 to record 8 songs, including a collaboration with horn players Stephen Bradley and Gabriel McNair, as well as Saga Strings.[6]

The first single off of Rossi's debut album was "Madness."[7] In October 2015, Rossi released "Animal" on Soundcloud.[8]

In early 2016, when Rossi was 17, she released “Earthquake,” which was written about depression and the passing of her father.[9] Earthquake appeared on the YouTube charts in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, and France.. Rossi's follow-up single “Young Hearts”also appeared on the charts in a half dozen countries, amassing 3 million views.[10]

Rossi was accepted to Berklee for vocals with a scholarship, but she deferred to move to LA to pursue her career full time.[17]

She is currently working with producer Ryan Hadlock of Bear Creek Studio.[1] She is signed with FullScreenMedia.[2]

Rossi has been featured on an Apple feature about her success with Smule.[18][3]
