Overall tennis records article name
[edit]Hi I noticed sometime ago you changed this template https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template:Tennis_records_and_statistics&diff=651852350&oldid=649120056 to All Time when I created that article it was called Tennis records of All Time - Men's Singles which I thought was a more appropriate name then along comes an editor (one time only btw) who moved and renamed it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Overall_tennis_records_%E2%80%93_men%27s_singles&diff=prev&oldid=588671507 personally have never liked the name overall even though it sort of means the same thing whats your thoughts?--Navops47 (talk) 06:45, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
- I agree, "All time" is the better name. That's what sports commentators and fans always say and write (not just tennis but any sport I'm familiar with). I don't think I've ever heard or read all-time records refered to as "overall". So, yes, when I reorganized the template last year I used the term "All-time" without even thinking about it. -Testpored (talk) 17:07, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
- I happened to notice this conversation. So you're saying the article would best be called "Tennis records of all-time - men's singles" or perhaps better "All-time tennis records - men's singles"? I was never fond of "overall" either." Maybe some don't like the term "all-time?" so it could always be "Historical tennis records - men's singles." Fyunck(click) (talk) 19:39, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
- "All-time tennis records - X" reads the best to me. I think "historical" is too vague. -Testpored (talk) 00:42, 8 March 2016 (UTC)

Consecutive sets won overall
[edit]I can't add this table without making a mess in the whole page in the Open era men's singles records --Bry17may (talk) 02:49, 19 July 2017 (UTC)
- I added it now. Thanks for doing that research. -Testpored (talk) 14:06, 19 July 2017 (UTC)
Slam leaders
[edit]Hi, in List of Grand Slam related tennis records#Chronological titles leaders you edited that Renshaw led the slam count for only 5 years, until 1887, which is wrong. In addition to those 5 years, he also led (together with Sears) from 1889 until 1925, when Tilden won his 8th title. Sears was not the sole leader from 1889-1925; he and Renshaw were tied at 7 slams that whole time. Gap9551 (talk) 18:14, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
- And Federer was tied with Sampras for a month, Sampras with Emerson for a year, etc. -Testpored (talk) 20:32, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
Would you care to explain what's going on? Format seems OK with my edits but perhaps there's somethign I'm overlooking? --Loginnigol 23:25, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
- This table was not changed properly. I fixed it, seeing that the col-float approach is better overall when fullscreen width. -Testpored (talk) 21:31, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
