Yaadon Ka Idiot Box abbreviated as YKIB is a storytelling Indian radio show launched by BIG FM 92.7, narrated by Neelesh Misra. The show YKIB is based on dreamlanding stories or imaginary cities in which storyteller use imaginary thoughts that takes the listeners through the journey of their imaginary world. The show was first introduced by Big FM in 2011 and it comprises of different story parts which are known as "seasons", seasons 1, seasons 2, seasons 3, seasons 4,and seasons 5, broadcasted on 53 stations across the country with regular stories. [2] It is said, the YKIB stories involves the listeners in an unreal world where they feel and remember what happened to them in the past. Listeners in India along its neighbouring country Pakistan encouraged the storytelling thought of Yaadon Ka Idiot Box [3] which is also known as "Yaadon Ka Idiot Box With Neelesh Misra".[4] [5] [6]

Popularity

The radio show "Yaadon Ka Idiot Box" became popular across the both nations and later lyricist launched a series of books that tales the imaginary stories written by Misra. [7] The books of this show are commonly known as "Yaad Sheher". The word "Yaad" and "Sheher" are the combination of two urdu words which means "The city of memory or recollection" [8] [9]

Impacts on Listeners

In 2017, the radio show claimed their stories heal depression while students called it "avoid exam pressure". While trying to measure the effects of imaginary stories on different types of personalities, the writer accompanied with his team, claimed that they had worked with a team of doctors to gather practical evidence.
