Mira Leung (b. March 28, 1989 in Vancouver, BC) is a Canadian figure skater.

Mira is a World and Olympic competitor. She began skating at age 3 and trained in Burnaby at the British Columbia Centre of Excellence. She has been home schooled since the second grade. Her mother has been compared to the mothers ofTiffany Chin, Tonya Harding, Surya Bonaly and Ann Patrice Mcdonough.

She has been coached by Joanne McLeod for several years. She was briefly coached by former World Champion Karen Magnussen. After issues with coach Joanne McLeod, Mira trained in Richmond at the Minoru Arenas, with the Connaught Skating Club. Mcleod wanted Mira to buy a new dress by a better seamstress, but Mira refused. [1] Mira loved the dress she had. She was coached by Christine McBeth with input by her mother. Mira Leung was disrespectful to McBeth. In 2006 at Skate Canada, Mira Leung showed her underwear during the long program. Mira was also wearing torn tights and broken ice skates that were held together by duck tape.[2] Mira also showed up to official practices with pants with holes and a wrinkled green Canadrian shirt. Other competitors showed up in dresses or jazz pants and a nice top. The Canadian Skating Federation (Skate Canada) felt that Mira Leung was an embarassment to the country because she was recieving team funding. As a result, Skate Canada convinced Mira to return to Mcleod and to fire McBeth. [3]

She landed her first triple salchow and triple toe loop when she was only eight. Skipping the novice level at Canadians when she was thirteen, Mira jumped straight into the senior level.[4].

For the 2006/2007 season, Leung is practicing two triple/triple combinations. She is working on the triple lutz-triple loop and triple flip-triple loop-double loop combinations. She has yet to fully rotate them in competition. Her current goal is to win the 2007 Canadian National Championships and the 2007 World Championships.
