Barangay Look 1st (PSGC: 031410026) is one of the 51 barangays in Malolos City, Bulacan, Philippines. The barangay is composed of five purok or zones. It is surrounded by rice fields in its territorial boundary by barangays of Longos, Lugam, Mojon and Pinagbakahan of the city and barangays Lagundi and Dampol of the nearby town of Plaridel, Bulacan.

It was originally part of Barrio Lugam as its Sitio Looc (dulo ng Lugam). In 1870 Looc gain its independence as a seperate Barrio of the same name which is Looc Primero.

Background

Looc traces is beginning when it was part of massive land under Lugam founded in 1805 which was part of much older Piñacbacahan under the auspices of the Augustinian order.

Early History

In 1754,Spanish Government awarded an estate to the Salinas Clan from Spain,they became the Marquis, ie "landlord" of the estate divided into 4 parts, namely Piñahan (pine plantation),Abacahan (Manila hemp) ,Cabiaoan (Sugar plant) ,Barijan ( Manila Grass) .In 1834 the Spanish Crown transferred the administration of the estate to the Augustinian Order and renamed it into Dampol Estate which they built a "camp" near Quingua River and later transformed into a "village chapel"commonly called as "visita de San Miguel".
