Frenkie de Jong (born 12 May 1997) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for AFC Ajax.

Club career

A youth product of Willem II, de Jong played though the entire youth system of the club. On 10 May 2015, de Jong made his Eredivisie debut against ADO Den Haag coming off the bench to replace Terell Ondaan in a 1–0 home win.[3]

In the summer of 2015, de Jong joined AFC Ajax on a four-year contract.[4] He then helped take Ajax to the 2017 Europa League final.[4] De Jong's feats throughout the 2016–17 season for Jong Ajax saw him being awarded the Jupiler League's Talent of the Season award.[5]

International career

Youth

De Jong made 22 appearances for various Netherlands youth teams. On 10 July 2015, de Jong made his international debut for the Netherlands U-19 team against Germany U-19.[6]

Senior

On 9 June 2018, De Jong made his senior international debut in a friendly win against Peru.[7]
