  • Comment: The position of Secretary of State of Florida is a notable position and therefore Laurel M. Lee is likely to be notable however statements such as she "replace some dude" aren't appropriate for an encyclopaedic article. Needs better reliable references. Laurel M. Lee is Florida Secretary of State. She was appointed by Florida governor Ron DeSantis in 2019 to replace Michael Ertel who resigned after a 2005 photo of him wearing blackface as part of a Halloween costume as a Hurricane Katrina victim surfaced. Prior to her appointment as Secretary of State, Lee was a judge in Tampa.[1][2] She is the wife of State Senator Tom Lee.[3]
