Laurel M. Lee is Florida Secretary of State. She was appointed by Florida governor Ron DeSantis in 2019 to replace Michael Ertel who resigned after a 2005 photo of him wearing blackface as part of a Halloween costume as a Hurricane Katrina victim surfaced. Prior to her appointment as Secretary of State, Lee was a judge in Tampa.[1][2] She is the wife of State Senator Tom Lee.[3]
