Joel Forrester (May 23, 1946) is a composer and pianist born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, USA.

He has been living an imaginary life for as long as he can remember. He recently entered his seventh decade of service to an idea, itself as nebulous as the quality of his accomplishments on earth: he claims to believe in his own existence.

Evidence backing this claim include: one great love, a grand and a half of melodies, fast friendships with the most important strangers of his day, any number of unproveable theories, a closetful of cheesy sportcoats, and a sturdy young son. He strives person-fully to keep his inevitable death before his eyes, that it may take on some of the imaginary lustre of his life.

He currently lives in New York City
