Extended narrative is delightful and oh-so-not Wikipedia format

I have to say I love the extended narrative from someone close to the original source of the term beta. And from a personal perspective, it's valuable and I wish it would stay on Wikipedia forever. However, unless that's been published in a climbing magazine and can be cited/quoted legally, it probably needs to be moved to the talk page (please editors, don't just delete it!
