Hypergiant is an American technology and defense company that offers artificial intelligence products and services.[1][2][3][4][5]The company was founded in 2018 and based in Austin, Texas.[6][7]

History

Hypergiant was founded by Ben Lamm,[8][9] John Fremont and Will Womble in 2018.[10][11] It received a Series A round of an undisclosed amount of funding backed by Align Capital, Mythic Ventures, Tony Robbins[12] and Berringer Capital. [13] The company started developing products and services and uses machine learning to help large companies implement an AI strategy.[14][15][16] Initially, it operated through three subsidiaries which offer products and services in artificial intelligence primarily through Hypergiant Space Age Solutions.[17][18][19] Hypergiant Ventures is the AI investment fund.

In November 2018, the company launched Hypergiant Sensory Sciences,[20] an AI product focused on intelligence through cameras[21][22][23]. In 2019, the company started another product Galactic Systems to focus on artificial intelligence-driven aerospace and astronautic software and hardware products.[24][25]

Acquisitions

The company acquired Black Pixel, a Seattle-based app development company in 2018 for an undisclosed amount.[26][27][28][29][30][31] In 2019, Hypergiant acquired Satellite & Extraterrestrial Operations & Procedures, a Houston-based satellite deployment and service.[32]
