Monita Rajpal currently works as a CNN International news anchor, based at the network's London office.

Monita Rajpal was born in Hong Kong to a Chinese mother of Indian (Sikh) origin and an Indian father. She spent most of her childhood in Hong Kong before emigrating to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

In 1996, she obtained a B.A.A. (Bachelor of Applied Arts) degree in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson Polytechnic University (now Ryerson University) in Toronto, before moving into television journalism and anchoring on Toronto's Pulse24 news channel. She joined CNN in Atlanta in 2001, before moving to their London news centre in 2004. She also occasionally hosts other CNN programmes such as Design 360 and Global Challenges.

Monita Rajpal is currently not married and resides in London.
