Coomera Cubs Baseball Club

The Coomera Cubs Baseball Club is a baseball club located on the Gold Coast in Queensland, that participates[1] in the Greater Brisbane League and the Gold Coast Baseball Association League.[2] The club is also a host to the annual GCBA Summer Classic[3]

In 2018/19 season the club entered teams in the Senior Div1, Div2, U16 Div1 and U14 Div1 GBL competition and 1 Senior team 8 Junior teams in the local GCBA competition. The club also participates in the GCBA Winter competition in A, B, C and Masters grades.

History

The club has a history dating back to the 1990s and was originally known as the Coomera Cougars. The club shared playing fields on the eastern side of the M1 where the Coomera Soccer fields know reside. The club was moved in the early 2000s to the current site at Gambamora Park and was officially incorporated in 2006 as the Coomera Cubs Baseball Club Inc. That year the club entered multiple Junior and Senior teams in the Gold Coast Baseball Association competition.

Junior Baseball Academy

2013 saw the introduction of the first club based junior elite academy[4] on the Gold Coast.

Little League

In 2018 there was a large representation from the club that represented the Gold Coast at the Little League[5] District State Titles. This Gold Coast[6] team became the first team from Queensland to win National Little League Australian Championships in June 2018 and progress to the Little League World series.[7]

Facilities

The club has 1 x fully fenced senior diamond and 1 x fully fenced Little League diamond with covered dugouts and scorers sheds. The club has fully lit twin batting tunnels and triple bullpen along with multiple other bullpens around the park.
