The 2020 NHL Winter Classic is an upcoming outdoor regular season National Hockey League (NHL) game, part of the Winter Classic series that is scheduled for January 1, 2020. The game will feature the Nashville Predators and the Dallas Stars.[1] The game will be played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas, currently used for college football special events (the State Fair Classic, Red River Showdown and First Responder Bowl); the game continues a tradition of playing a major sporting event in the stadium on New Year's Day, as the stadium hosted the Cotton Bowl Classic until that game moved to AT&T Stadium in 2010. This will be the first NHL outdoor game for both teams.[1][2]

On April 23, 2019, the day tickets went on sale to the general public, the event officially sold out, becoming the 2nd fastest Winter Classic in history to sellout.[3]
