The Editor's Barnstar

I award Nv8200p this barnstar for his efforts in deleting thousands of unsourced, unknown copyright images from Wikipedia. It's a mammoth task. Blnguyen | rant-line 01:59, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to you

Hi, Mr. Moore. I didn't know where else to say this, so this is where it's gonna be, for now.

My name is Aidan Grey, and I'm the Photography Coordinator for Home&Abroad, http://www.homeandabroad.com . I just wanted to say thanks a million to you. Your photos of sites in the Asutin area (as well as others) have been a great boon to my task - finding a photo to go with a recommended site. Austin is under development now, and your name will appear beneath every picture we use, but you can see your image of the Denver Mint on our website at the moment. I just thought you deserved to know your images are getting seen elsewhere too, and they're greatly appreciated!

Thanks again!

Aidan Grey (you can contact me through our website)

Why Can't I get photo CrediT!!!!

You wrote Claims non-comercial use only. Embedded photo credits.

you put up for deletion: Image:Laelia purpurata oculata.JPG Image:Laelia purpurata carnea.jpg Image:Laelia speciosa.JPG

These images were taken by me. The original sizes are 1024x768 and I shrunk them down to 800x600. I dont think "Image taken by C. Chan SFOS librarian" is commercial. If you have a problem please contact the San Francisco Orchid Society for my phone # and call me. Here is the website to get you started [1] I demand you take these pictures off deletion because you have false clams. NO AREAS of the photo show says it is commercial.

Fine I will just change the license to Cc-by-2.0 or you can cut off that part of the photo and re upload

Lakeland image

You recently put a copyright tag on the Lakeland picture which I uploaded and it says that I should give fair trade rationale for all items linking to it. Please could you let me know what I have to do for it. The image is used on the Lakeland Limited page and is used to reflect the company logo. I have already the added the source URL in the description of the image but is there anything else that I have to do? Regards RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or lets have banter 12:28, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, actually meant fair use rationale not fair trade! RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or lets have banter 13:09, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article in need of cleanup - please assist if you can

Image:Coshma Shiva Hagen.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Coshma Shiva Hagen.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok 04:18, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please advise

Hi. I have a number of images red-tagged and I am hoping I can bring them into concordance with Wikipedia policies. I do apologize for being lax in this regard and creating work for other editors. I have added info to the image "Image:Eldridge.jpg" and tagged it as fair use. Would you please advise me if this is up to minimum standards? I worry that it might fail the first fair use criterion since in theory another photo of the street could be taken. Thanks much. HouseOfScandal - 05:04, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You wrote: "An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:LIP Hancock Retrospective.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in its not being deleted. Thank you."

Regretfully I cannot see the reason you have deleted this image on the page you link. Please could you tell me the reason, or let me know where I can find the reason. Thanks. Martin 10:25, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
