Anil Jasinghe

Anil Jasinghe, MD, MSc, MD(MedAd.), MPA is a Sri Lankan Medical administrator who is currently the Director-General of Health Services in Sri Lanka who is the chief Technical officer of the Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine.

Dr. Anil Jasinghe has obtained his primary education from the Mahinda College Galle and secondary education from the Ananda College Colombo-10.

He graduated his Medical degree from Lvov State Medical Institute in the former Soviet Union and recieved postgraduate qualifications Msc Community Medicine and MD Medical Administration from Postgraduate Institute of Medicine in Sri Lanka attached to University of Colombo Sri Lanka. In 2011 he obtained the degree Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Postgraduate Institute of Management of Sri Jayewardenepura University.

He joined Medical administration as the Medical Superintendent of the Provincial Hospital, Badulla in Sri Lanka in 1996. Then he became the Deputy Director of the National Hospital of Sri Lanka in charge of the Accident and Orthopaedic Service and served there at the height of the terrorism. In 2009 he became the Director, Colombo South Teaching Hospital and then as the Deputy Director General, National Hospital of Sri Lanka. In 2017 he was appointed as the Director General of Health Services of Sri Lanka.[1]
