Otik Sandath is the owner of the Inn of the Last Home in Solace in the fictional Dragonlance world. He was well-known for his delicious spicy potatoes and his ale. He was friendly and cheerful, and after the War of the Lance he was fond of telling tales of the night the Companions met in his Inn. He was rather round and a bit short.

All of the companions are close to Otik, but Tika has a special love for him.

    Early life

In his early days, Otik once tried adventuring, and along this path he discovered his calling; running an inn- he had found the inns in his journeys quite enjoyable. He saved his money and bought an Inn in Solace from an old hill dwarf. He dubbed it "The Inn of the Last Home". Otik worked tirelessly making his ale and food the best around, and soon his dishes and beer were known far and wide. The Inn became a friendly and warm place under Otik's guidance.

Otik caught a young girl (Tika Waylan, who would later become one of the Heroes of the Lance) stealing, but found she didn't understand that what she was doing was wrong. He also found that she was the daughter of a shady magician, who had abandoned her. He gave her a job as a barmaid and later took her into her home as his adopted daughter. She grew very close to him, and she loves him as a father. Otik's most profitable night was when a strong love potion was accidentally mixed in with the ale.

    The War of the Lance

Otik did not play a very prominent role in the War. When Solace burned, Otik hurt his leg and walks with a cane. He still ran the Inn, and it was one of the very few buildings that remained after the burning.

    After the War

Otik sold the Inn to Caramon and Tika after the war, however he still frequented the Inn. He died a few years after.
