Lakhahi[1] was a Princely State established independently in about 1461 as Usiya. Maharaja Akhai Raj Singh Rathore who migrated from Jodhpur was the founder of Lakhahi. He conquered local territories. The Royal Family is descended from the Royal House of Rathores of Jodhpur-Marwar.

An enormous temple of Lord Shiva was build by Maharaja Rambaksh Singh Ji Rathore for about 300 years ago[2]. The state was demoted to a Zamindari after the great uprising of 1857.[3]
