While I was gone | When I came back

thanks for supporting Fredil

Hi there, thanks for supporting Fredil. I remember all too well how insecure I felt at his age, which in my case led to the anorexia I still have to fight to this day. As for your cat, I'm truly sorry about your loss, and try to remember that your cat is now free of the pain he/she felt. I know that the words will sound hollow and trite right now (speaking from personal experience), but the emptiness and sadness you feel will, over time, become less unbearable. There's more I could say, but it might be best said via e-mail. --Kyoko 00:59, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, that sounds very arrogant of me, talking about how your pain will "become less unbearable", but it really did in my case, and I hope it will for you too. --Kyoko 06:52, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you...

...for all your off-wiki support. (have I said this already? Oh well, doesn't hurt to do it again). It's much appreciated. Will (Tell me, is something eluding you, Sunshine?) 10:55, 1 December 2006 (UTC)`[reply]

Archive boxamajig

Hey dude, since you created my talk header-y thingo, can you tell me why the archive box keeps going higher and higher everytime I add a new archive link? Like it's trying to run off the page? :p And is it fixable? Oh well, no big deal, just some mild OCD which makes me want to see things line up with each other. Ack. Take care, and I hope you're feeling better. <3 riana_dzasta 17:16, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers girlie :) It's fine, I don't really mind - if other people don't think it looks bad, I guess I should control my, er, freaky urges. ;) Take care! riana_dzasta 05:25, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to the AMA

Hello Editor at Large. I am Wikiwoohoo, deputy co-ordinator of the AMA. I wanted to say extend my thanks to you for joining the AMA. Just a note, the association's current meeting is now on at AMA Meeting/December 2006. If you would like to comment on any of the ongoing discussion then you are very welcome to. I hope to see you around. Wikiwoohoo 18:40, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hope you are okay

Hope things are going better now, I know how terrible it is when a beloved one passes away. Just last year (in 13 days) my aunt died (and she was only 51 years old! (Well, she was born in the same year Albert Einstein died, so that made her in her 50's, right?)) and a few years before that my pet rabbit died. If in any way I can lighten and/or share your burden, tell me, and I will. Thanks, too, for letting me know that Fredil wasn't doing so well. —¡Randfan! 20:09, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

It's good to know that someone understands me. There are people who are just complete idiots that sit back and laugh, and there are people like you who actually care about their friends. So I say, thank you for your support, and thank you for helping me realize that I'm a decent person. I care about people my friends a lot, and I know when I can come and brighten someone's day. Sometimes I feel like this is the only place that can actually understand me, and sometimes I feel that friends here are more supportive and caring than friends that I have in real life. I will always be here for you if you ever need any support; you can count on that! After all, it's the least you deserve after your great message to me. Fredil 16:01, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, how do you like it? I moved the userboxes for a more minimalist look. I'm also curious about your response (if any) to my latest e-mail. I hope you're doing well. --Kyoko 23:46, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Admin coaching, etc.

Are you ready to get started?

The waiting time over at Admin coaching is long (some people have been waiting in line since July). I'm an admin coach with the project, and for my students I set up a group discussion page so that we could all learn from each other. The scope of this concept has expanded into the Virtual classroom, which is an open forum for the teaching and learning of advanced Wikipedia skills.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to participate, as a student, as a coach, or both. Every week or two a new major topic of discussion or classroom assignment is introduced, usually with a guest writer who presents his or her expertise on the current subject and who remains on hand to answer questions. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the discussions, such as sharing your expertise, asking and answering questions, etc.

The current topic of discussion is vandalism, and our guest writer is Budgiekiller.

All discussions are open-ended, so all previous discussion topics and classroom assignments are still there for viewing and further participation. There are also sections for posting miscellaneous topics and questions, requesting coaching assistance, etc.

In addition to inviting those who would like to learn, I routinely invite experts from all over Wikipedia to come and contribute for the benefit of all. The VC is rapidly turning into a clearing house of the best resources, methods, and techniques known for working on Wikipedia.

You are cordially invited to participate.

Here's an announcement box which you can place on your userpage or at the top of your talk page for keeping up to date with classroom assignments.

I hope to see you there. Sincerely,  The Transhumanist    07:51, 12 December 2006 (UTC) [reply]

For consistently showing wit and a good sense of humour even when you're down, I award you, Editor at Large, this barnstar. Enjoy! Will (Tell me, is something eluding you, Sunshine?) 08:45, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could you take a look at these links (and any other recent edits)? The terminology link especially is just a repeat of the Glossary of ballet article and as such, probably shouldn't be linked. Apparently, however, the links are meant to be references? But I haven't got the time or energy to look through the illusion of flight section and verify anything, or check the reliability of the physics source (who does...). So, external links: remove as redundant or reformat as references? --Keitei (talk) 00:30, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello!

I am very sorry that I never thanked you for the award......but anyway....THANKS! I have only had one since I started using wikipedia - I should like to have more :) !

I would love it if the article was proof-read, etc. This article (anything relating to it) have been my sort of hobby/obsession of late - I think the current state of ballet history on not only wikipedia but on the enitre web in general is horrific, and I am very pleased when I see excerpts of info from any of my articles (the Petipa one in particular) quoted or used on a dance company's page.

I have tried my hardest to compile all of the information I have in any of my sources (old books and rare programs and yearbooks from the old Imperial Ballet of Tsarist Russia, as well as bios and studies of ballet from the late 19th century, etc.).

I can honestly say that this article is the best place on the web to find information on Petipa...so yes, please proof-read and edit accordingly, and you have questions pertaining to history or specifics (though I dont think Ive left any stones unturned in this area) please ask with haste!

Thanks again!!!!!!!

Thanks again, and I will be going on a wikibreak

Hi E@L, thanks again for wishing me a good wikibreak, even if I did end up cutting that one short. I will be going on an extended break later this week, lasting approximately one month, and I expect to be offline during that time. I've already told you all of this by e-mail, but I don't know which you check more regularly, there or here. I do hope that you're feeling a little better. Love, --Kyoko 01:14, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I hope that oyu feel a lot better! Happy holidays (you'll recieve a "card" soon)! Lots of love, ¡Randfan!Sign here? 22:42, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was saving this, but...

File:Spitzer Valentine.jpg Will just gave you a rose!

Roses are a symbol of love, and more importantly, as a symbol of WikiLove. Love makes the world lovely, and hopefully this rose has brightened your day. To give another editor a rose and to spread the love, leave the message {{subst:User:Sceptre/wikilove|message=your message}} on their talk page. Happy editing!

With Kyoko's month-long departure from Wikipedia (and the internet), just know there are people out there who love you, who care about you, so, if you need anyone to talk to, talk to me, as you have been doing recently, I'm all ears. Have yourself a fantastic holiday, and keep yourself safe, we don't want to lose a fantastic editor (at large). Will (Tell me, is something eluding you, Sunshine?)Merry Christmas! 00:46, 19 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Something a little different :)

Personally, I don't like throwing around wikismiles and barnstars, though I made an exception for you before. Here is something a little different, and in my opinion, a little more substantial ^_^

The Golden Wiki Award
As their homepage says, Esperanza stands for hope. In spite of many newer Esperanzans who have tainted those values, several conflicts, a lot of personal stress, and the death of one close to you, the one thing that has been eternal has been your hope. Your tireless contributions to Wikipedia in spite of these circumstances have served as an example for countless Wikipedians, and it is my honour to award you with this award. Remember, it's always darkest before the dawn. Cheers, ✎ Peter M Dodge aka "Wiz" (Talk to Me) (Support Neutrality) 01:42, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I second it. :) -- 01:00, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!

Hi E@L, this forget-me-not is just for you! I will be on a wikibreak of approximately one month starting tomorrow, and I hope you won't forget that I care about you. I certainly will be thinking of you while I'm away, and there are many other people who also love you and care for you. I just wanted to leave you this greeting now just in case I didn't get online before I leave. Thank you for all you've done for me. I hope you have a happy and carefree holiday season, and that everything, and I mean everything gets better for you! --Kyoko 18:01, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings to you

Hello e@l. Kyoko left me greetings for the holidays. I was going to thank her, but I think she is already off-line on wikibreak as she has archived her messages. She has asked people to send a note to you, so that's what I'm doing, because I know you have been through very difficult times and Kyoko has supported you. I hope we can all look out for each other. Otherwise the claims to the enterprise being a "community" will be hollow. I hope you can have a break at this time of year and that you have a good one, and that next year will be much better for you than this one seems to have been. All the best. After real life

I noticed your notice about real life stuff distracting you from wikipedia. I just wanted to drop by and say that if, at some time, you get back on a more regular basis and feel like taking on a project, I've recently begun making large additions to Thutmose III which could use some attention from a wordsmith such as yourself. Cheers. Thanatosimii 23:42, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Time Person of the Year

Congrats! Y-O-U are the Time Person of the Year! Good job! (note: this is to cheer you up, not to let other Wikipedians down because they are also Persons of the Year, too) Template:Smi Bearly541 00:49, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Have a good Holiday!

Is this nebula a good enough present?

Hi. Just wanted to wish you a happy festive season, and Merry Christmas. I hope that you have an excellent new year. Thank you for all that you do in Wikipedia and Esperanza. You are a really generous and nice person. As for a gift, I thought a nebula would be appropriate. Best wishes and once again, happy holidays! Jam01 09:16, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
